SDE is my largest holding and I am looking forward for a generous special dividend paid in mid January. As far "repositioning", it makes sense to spin-out Deep Basin rewarding shareholders, sell BC and other none producing assets and focus on Gold Creek and Karr.
Expanding northeast by buying Pipestone minority interest in bordering lands or making an offer for the entire PIPE is possible but I am not sure about the latter."
This doesn't make sense to me. Spartan has been on a HUGE buying spree for almost 5 years, and i mean HUGE. Why all of a sudden would they do a 180 & start divesting those assets they just acquired? It's counter intuitive, counter prodcutive and it doesn't add up in my book. Also some politics might be at play here.....
More likely, from a legal standpoint, is that WORD got out what the old Spartan was up to AND they had to make a public statement. This makes MUCH more sense that what you've stated. If anyone else has any other input which could "reasonably" explain this, i'm ALL EARS.
