not out of step.
Here's a table from the BNS website by quarter within each year. They missed a few increases when they were stuck at $0.90 but have now resumed their every 2nd quarter pattern.

dileas48s wrote: I guess we're splitting hairs a bit, but for clarity BNS last raised the dividend in July of 2022 (3% or $0.03 increase) and prior to that it was January 2021 (11.11% or $0.10). Before that we'd have to go to October 2019 for a dividend raise.
Prior to COVID they consistenly raised every other quarter (2 & 4), so the lack of an announcement to raise the dividend is out of step with historical activity.
