RE:RE: Perlmutter (Obvious) Fail & Schumer Yet to Play His HandPlease don't seem so offended by finding ramblings on a fourm. You work 12+hrs a day your gonna have typos/minor mistakes, especially when you don't care to check since again its a rambling forum. But yes Perlmutter is a democrat. I thought I read GOP but that detail is inconsequential since the main point is that he is not the driving force of this reform despite how passionate he is about the issue. As for Schumer, he has gone really far out of his way to make a push in the lame duck and he hasn't done anything yet - only Perlmutter which is my point. Don't count on the Omnibus bill: https://thehill.com/policy/finance/3765991-conservatives-ramp-up-pressure-on-mcconnell-to-block-spending-bill/. I think the Omnibus is once again Perlmutter's brain child. That is from late night memory though so fact check it. As far as I believe, it has got to proceed with SAFE banking plus, which is exactly what Schumer has been saying. If he just decides to do nothing well then don't hold companies with bad financials but stay in the sector to recoup when they bring up the schedule review or GOP House decides to cooperate supporting a moderate cannabis banking bill. With 51 senators on demo side they are in decent shape despite all this crying. Also the US needs to function with a split government so its the time of the season for bipartsian deals and negotiation.
And if there is one thing to keep in mind its how the opposite always seems to happen when it comes to American politics. 2 years ago no one thought the Demos could get senate house and oval office. Then came january and they won the senate. After SAFE banking seemed almost a guarantee and here we are still waiting. Then everyone thought there would be a red wave and somehow democrats kept the senate with a +1 seat. Now people are saying SAFE is dead and there is no hope for reform under a republican house. Well maybe, but honestly this sector seems to love contrarians.
