Instituto Dominicano de Aviacin Civil authorized the construction of the airport, San Juan, de la Maguana, after evaluating the project presented in accordance with the Authorization Procedure for the construction of the aerodrome and runways (Phase I) established in Order IDAC 14001.
According to the details, the design of the project's aeronautical facilities is already in place, including a 1,200mx 30-wide runway in its first phase, the taxiway, aircraft parking platform, agricultural aviation facilities, as well as the structural designs of the pavements.
The architectural design and construction plans for the terminal building, control tower and headquarters of the Dominican Republic Air Force, included in the first phase of the project, were completed.
Likewise, the Mayor's Office of San Juan granted its No Objection to the use of land for the construction of the important airport terminal.
While the National Geographic Institute also concluded the georeferenced inclusion of the airport land in the National Geodetic Network and certified the physical delimitation through the monumentation of its perimeter.
The coordination of the work is advancing at a good pace for the construction of the domestic airport El "Granero del Sur", in San Juan, in La Maguana, as planned by the airport authorities and the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation IDAC.
According to the details offered, the authorities have already made the definitive delimitation of the land where the airport will be built, whose construction will be in charge of the Airport Department with an initial investment of 100 million pesos.
Likewise, the airport authorities explained that the construction of the work occupies an area of 660,106.67 square meters, and is located in Pedro Corto, Municipality of San Juan de la Maguana, province of San Juan.
The agency reported that a private company was contracted through a public bidding process to be in charge of the construction and installation of the perimeter fence of the new airport.
“We can tell you that the coordination for the work to be carried out in the first months of next year 2023 is in accordance with what was planned in the project.

TIMELINE
As for the schedule planned for this work is going according to plan. The construction of the perimeter fence has already begun and the technical processes completed in the next few days will open the way for the construction of the terminal to begin, in its first phase, scheduled for the first quarter of 2023.
