Japan in deadliest wave yet.... Three years since the first Covid-19 case was detected in Japan and despite high vaccination rates, the country is in the midst of its deadliest wave yet – sparking a renewed debate about how best to live with the virus.
During the pandemic, just over 62,200 people have died in the east Asian country, which is home to roughly 125 million. But since the start of December, there have been 12,620 fatalities, meaning nearly one-fifth of all deaths have been in the last six weeks.
