EL NUEVO DIARIO, SAN JUAN.- The GoldQuest mining company, manager of the Romero project, installed internet equipment to provide free communication service to the communities of Hondo Valle and La Higuera, close to the Romero project, in order to promote the transformation and sustainable development of the surrounding areas and their residents.

Engineer Luis Santana, president of GoldQuest, stated that the initiative seeks to continue promoting social and economic renewal in San Juan and the most vulnerable communities in the province, through the generation of opportunities for educational growth such as the one provided by access to to technology.

Our commitment is the transformation and sustainable development of the region, but in a very special way that of the most dispossessed areas and with fewer opportunities in San Juan, and this can only be achieved with initiatives like these in which opportunities are given to young people and adults to training”, said Santana.

In a first stage, community members from the area of La Higuera were impacted, in a second stage, residents of Hondo Valle in the municipality of San Juan de la Maguana are being benefited

Manuel Antonio Bautista, a resident of Hondo Valle, thanked the mining company for the initiative to bring digital communication to the town: "Grateful to the GoldQuest company for the internet that it brought us and asking God to give the Romero project, and allow the completion of the environmental impact study so that good things can continue to come for all of us”.

Gnesis Montero, a resident of La Higuera and a senior in high school, said: "It is a pleasure for us to know that we will no longer have to walk two or three hours on foot to communicate with our relatives or to investigate our homework, We are already more comfortable because we have internet; Thank the Romero project for this opportunity that will be of great development for the community”.
