SAN JUAN DE LA MAGUANA. – The United Southwest Movement for Water and Life, the Dominican Medical College (CMD) and the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) will carry out a Great March against mining exploitation in San Juan and for the departure of the transnational Gold Quest , this Sunday March 5, starting at 9:30 in the morning.
This mobilization also assumes the fight that the Medical College has been waging in favor of decent social security for the Dominican people and its rejection of the modality implemented by the Health Risk Administrators (ARS) and Pension Fund Administrators (AFP).
The protest will start from the esplanade of the Incorporated Association of Agricultural Producers , in front of the Campus of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo , at the eastern entrance of this southern city.
In a press conference, they announced the march against mining Manuel Matos , coordinator of the United Southwest Movement for Water and Life; Senn Caba, president of the Dominican Medical College (CMD); Jos Milcades Pea, municipal president of the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) ; Father Santo Cabral , Pastor Vctor Perdomo, among other social leaders.
