RE:RE:Santos today announced the Papua LNG joint ventureAVALONSHARK , one time I said there was no sense in arguing with you because of your handle .
I will agree it's frustrating to have that much cash undployed or returned but there are different ways to look at data.
1) Did they get fair value, or better, for the Canadian operations? If the answer is yes , then the stranded operations don't really count. If the answer is no , then the question is why do it ........ why would you separate the two halves of the company? What do you achieve by cleaning up and focusing the company on PNG?
2) In this period of high inflation , is doing something stupid better than doing nothing? I keep thinking that as events play out ( as the politics play out ) that they may be thinking about adding a drill rig as well as restarting the current rigs.
3) maybe while they expect things to get underway , they don't know exactly. Kinda foolish to commit to an unknown timeline .
