On a previous post, I did mention that the feb 15 low was 60.09 taken down from  near 69 and that is pretty well where it closed yesterday.
If you look at the market in general on that date there was a similar sell off 
of about 450 points

Check the charts and trade histories
  .So there we have it, IMO a deja vu with good similarities
Hard to say what different shorter or group of shorters were considering to cover depending on their average selling price,

I was expecting shorting, but when is a different story. It so happened going by never letting a crisis go to waste,  the perfect storm presented itself and was well taken adavantage of.
