RE:PatienceWhile we are all being patient here's some interesting reading.
An article for those with a focus on FG gold mining. What FG gold mining? Take a read – yes, FG has a gold mining ‘industry’ going on. The country is suffering from major illegal mining with up to 10 tonnes being removed per year. Who knows the amount of pollution from various chemical usage, including mercury. Not too much NGO environmental outcry on this. The country is being overrun by illegal miners and not even the French Foreign Legion can bring it under control.
Might allowing limited and ‘controlled’ legal mining help decrease both illegal gold royalties and lost employment taxes, etc., from flowing out of FG?
Then again, we also have todays’ green new deal mine narrative to add to Montagne d’Or's story.
The next two catalyst’s (ignoring possible left field events) are the exploration renewal decision from the SC and the mine BFS reevaluation from OREA.

Guyana: a gendarme killed in an operation to fight against gold panning https://www.la-croix.com/France/Guyane-gendarme-tue-operation-lutte-contre-lorpaillage-2023-03-25-1201260676 According to figures from a parliamentary report published in July 2021, the Gendarmerie of Guyana estimates the number of illegal minors at around 8,600, mainly
"in an irregular situation on the territory" . Some 500 illegal gold panning sites are still active, according to the Mining Activity Observatory (OAM), including 150 located in the heart of the Amazon National Park, created in 2007 to protect the Amazon rainforest and its biodiversity.
Guyana is covered
"95% by dense forest, part of the Amazon rainforest, which makes operations to maintain order and eradicate the scourge of illegal gold panning complex", lamented the report .
