RE:RE:Wash trading and jitneyThere is but it means you have to pay up from your own pockets and they have to be very deep for a long time. Short selling is way easier and you are working with other people 
's money just like when central banks print money. That is why short selling is more popular with hedge funds because they get to sell something they don't own and use the proceeds as collateral for other investments.
