RE:RE:Havard law - analyst ownership of stock It is common for PMs to use sell-side reports as part of their due dilly, namely, the fact-finding/reporting part of those reports, and the reasoning used to then draw conclusions there on, but to make their own buy/sell decisions.
A lot of individual investors like myself do the same thing for their own due dilly: use various sources to gather facts, observations, and the resulting thoughts, but make their own decisions about pricing. No way, for example, would I use anyone here's opinion on whether to buy or sell BBD, and at what prices, nor would I or do I care what they say about their trades. And I have never known any serious investor to so, either. I would and do, however, use the info they present, like lb1temp's postings of analyst summary reports and stockitnow's info on the industry, and various posters' links to articles. That stuff has been very helpful. You just have to sort thru the various posts here to pick and choose the stuff that you think is helpful.
