Now you've got my attention. Putting a no risk deposit down to keep your place in
the delivery queue for a few years down the road at first blush seems even a stretch
but really it gives you all that time to reevaluate your decision. That seems like a
decent way to go about it. You are in the drivers seat (pun intended) and have
ultimate control. That my friend is quite reasonable given all the parameters you
require. I will reconsider. Thanks again.
I bought a townhouse exactly like that after refusing the first time around because I
balked over what I thought was a pressure tactic. That lessson cost me another
$5K as the deposit was to lock in a pre construction price and the prices rose that much near completion. Ouch. Another hard lesson learned. That said at least I
jumped the second time and subsequently sold it a year later for a nice profit.
Life is full of learning lessons even if I am an old curmudgon. I'm still learning lol.
