RE:RE:RE:i3 Energy cuts dividendWhat part of it? Sure if Gear announced on Tuesday that it removes the dividend entirely (hypethetically) the stock would go into a short period of high volatility, which to me means absolutely nothing. Who knows what kind of investors may be triggered to sell and how many shares. What is more important is what happens after the dust settles. In case with Gear Energy I can't predict what happens day or two after such an announcement but I am 95% certain after initial exit of shareholders who were there for the dividend a new wave of investors would come who are after higher Capex and cash in hand.
I have seen many examples when removal of dividends led to higher SP medium term. For me personally it would be just a moment where I can't use dividends to buy cheap shares any more as I am pretty sure SP would start increasing steadily after such event. The example of I3 is laughable. THere you really are counting chickens before they hatch.
