The critics always look at the blowoff top and make the assumption that everyone bought there and didn't sell.
He recommended it at about 60 cents for a couple of years, it had a couple of good bumps, and it ended up going to about 8 bucks in the mania. I made quite a bit on NVO and kept my winnings though I did leave a lot on the table by selling too soon.
As he often/usually/always said, (paraphrasing): 'Know when to hold 'em, and know when to fold 'em'. And buying them at the bottom and folding them at the top is the ideal, but never the norm. But he did stick with NVO too long.
He picked many good ones, and quite a few dogs - who doesn't?
