RE:RE:RE:VW panics as auto industry disruption continuesObscure..... respectfuly, you have this wrong.  Last week the US imported 7M bbls/day (including the 3.7M from Canada).  The SPR also released 1.5M bbls/day and they still came up short! (needing to draw a further 1.5M bbls/day from commercial stocks).  So for the week, they required 10M bbls/day in addition to the 12M bbls/day of their domestic production to balance their requirements.  The US Gulf coast refiners (where most of Cdn heavy goes) were re-tooled to process that grade decades ago to accommodate (what seemed like an endless supply at the time),  similar product grade that came from Mexico & Venezuela.  Those suppliers have since been in massive decline (through mismanagement & under investment) and can no longer supply very much.  Hugo Chavez used to constantly threaten to cut the US off from supplies when Venezuela was a bigger player than Canada.  No longer the case.  SU produces more oil daily than the whole country.  Canada does not have the US "over a barrel", we have been landlocked with little options to sell product elsewhere (hence the discount on WCS).  At the same time, the US requires this reliable supply so thats why Keystone was a no Brainer.  But Obama must have watched same video you watch and never approved it (even though the US Army Corps of Engineers approved the project several times). Trump approved it and slow Joe canceled it on first day in power.

I will watch this Tony Seba video.  Thanks for posting it.
