Reading this article is like going back in time. Sounds like there is a future for a real time airborne virus detecting device, that works according to whatever necessary specifications for a virus.

Example applications in a hospital setting.

Lots of parties working on it. I imagine eventually they will need some kind of an effectiveness endorsement like from someone like Health Canada or whatever such authority is in their jurisdiction.
