RE:Below $10.25 and sinkingLooks like the activists (Starboard has 7.5% as disclosed June 30 and are now AQN's largest shareholder) are busy loading up while the share price is depressed. CNBC reported today that Starboard's cost is $8.38US per share and that their history shows a 27.5% average gain on positions they take.
So simple math says $8.38US per share equals $10.98 Cdn (at $1.31 exch rate) as cost for Starboard using CNBC's report. If we take the $10.98 Cdn per share cost and get a 27.5% return (Starboard's historical average return rate per CNBC) we get $14.00 Cdn per share.
Pretty attractive and well within the normal trading range for AQN before the wheels fell off when the company went astray with their direction. Starboard mapped out the solutions just a few days ago. I am of the view they will have their program implemented one way or another and happy to ride their coattails to a true share value for AQN.
