RE:Sad Story about Ford Lightning F-150 EV on Holiday

RE:Sad Story about Ford Lightning F-150 EV on Holiday

People are ignorant claiming that they bought a EV for environmental reasons. This EV pickup is about 1,000 lbs heavier than mid trim F-150. Most of the extra weight is base metals that have to be mined and processed, polluting the environment in the process. Nor really green, plus larger tires that wear out faster.
Ignorant or not telling the truth. Just say that you bought it to save on fuel which is not always the case. Especially in the cold climate, when at -5C when travelling with the heater on about 40% of range is lost. Cold also slows charging and regenerative braking. An EV in Winnipeg where -20C are normal winter temperatures is absolutely useless. Keep charging all day long, mr. "I didn't know".
