My understanding is that the "days to cover" is just the number of shares short, divided by the average daily volume- gives one an idea of how much increased volume would be needed to cover e.g. double the volume for 7 days. I'm no expert. Unfortunately, I can only see data for recent 2 week periods, not up-to-date daily results.
It could indeed be people investing against the PM bull-market hype. Take a look at peers.
Even at todays SP, Sil has been an extrordinary success. Look at the longterm chart. Keep an eye on Fier's other projects. The guy is a genius.
