Hi Kav.

Profit taking? Lol not sure what to call it.

I did very well trading in 2021 and most of 2022 (really who didn't). And wound up with a huge tax bill. Instead of deferring taxes I paid in advance lol. Too bad the biggest wins were outside the tfsa

The last big trade had a huge loss which was just crystallized by selling some BNE.

I traded across into Baytex. I say across because the stock trades similarly to BNE and I think it is actually cheaper on a cash flow basis. The buybacks are cleaning up the float, there should be a kicker with better Eagleford drilling practices and US institutions are buying in a big way and we get an update every two weeks from Nuttall.

The oil sector looks so healthy now its hard to let anything go. And balance sheets are pristine. Some  positions like Tenaz are not really trading in lockstep with the oil market. More of a special situation roll-up play. That one will probably have to be pried out of my cold dead hands. Management is killing it - I Expect it to triple in a BAD market.

I might fish for a little Peyto and PNE to ride out any recession or weak markets with more yield. Gas is cheap but I think the trading band has a higher floor going forward regardless of weather and the economy. It might bottom around 2.50 seasonally but not 1.50. In two years that probably moves to a 3.25 floor. A lot of that goes into my wife's accounts.

I might sell off all of my non core juniors though.
