Sprott Asset CEO on the current uranium bull market

Sprott Asset CEO on the current uranium bull market
With uranium prices hitting a 12-year high, uranium stocks have entered a bull market that will last years according to Sprott Asset Management CEO John Ciampaglia, as historical uranium cycles tend to go six to eight years due to the large capital expenditures involved.
"Uranium stocks are finally starting to outperform the commodity price... and some of their operating leverage is starting to play out here," Ciampaglia told Proactive in a recent interview.

As the worldwide push to reduce reliance on fossil fuels has renewed interest in nuclear power, Kraken Energy (UUSA.c UUSAF) has emerged as a high potential opportunity with four high-grade uranium projects with significant upside in the tier 1 mining jurisdictions of Nevada and Utah.

Harts Point Uranium Project
  • Located in the center of the Colorado Plateau which has produced over 328M pounds of U3O8 since the 1950s
  • Close proximity to significant historical uranium production including the Favourable Chinle Formation Host Rock and Lisbon Valley Anticline
  • Historic exploration drillholes showing 'Off-Scale' radioactivity
  • Drilling up to 20 exploration drill holes in 2023
Apex Uranium Project
  • Nevada's largest past-producing mine representing 50% of Nevada's historic uranium output
  • Average production grade of ~0.25% U3O8 and current grab samples up to 3.19% U3O8
  • Over 14.5km strike length of favourable geology for uranium mineralization including elevated uranium values along with anomalous gold, silver, nickel and copper
  • Strong geophysical correlation between known mineralized zones and current drill targets across the property
Garfield Hills Uranium Project
  • 1,268 hectares with high-grade property-wide results
  • Phase 1 drill program complete with significant upside and mineralized extent currently open in all directions
  • 5 new priority target areas were identified with significant correlations between strongly anomalous radioactivity and elevated UAV spectrometer readings
  • Historic drill results of 0.26% U3O8 over 14m and 0.18% over 14m
Huber Hills Uranium Project
  • Elko County's largest uranium past producer
  • Recent channel samples grading 0.149% and 0.102% U3O8
  • Past production of ~10,000 pounds of U3O8 at 0.24% U3O
In building a US-based uranium production plan to service domestic energy demand, UUSA is well positioned in the uranium market with historic mining grades which compare with leading US projects and a clear path to establishing its resources amid ongoing project generation and acquisition evaluations.
