What this reads like is that Nick was very satisfied of where the company was, and decided to retire - assuming that his large stake in the company would carry him through retirement once the BO completes.
That being said, don't mortgage your house, and don't invest more than you can lose. We're still very far from a sure-thing here. As optimistic as I personally am, I'm still managing risk like any other investment.
