Keep in mind that Newmont is getting Newcrest at a FOUR BILLION dollar discount to what was iitially on the table. This is not very good news for Newcrest shareholders, many of whom are being forced to accept cash.
That's close to 25% less than what they would have gotten when the deal was first announced.
