While digging for TMX workers found a rusty piece what looked like a fishing hook. Someone in a local newspaper suggested that it could be a native artefact. News got to Ottawa and the Trudeau appointed environment minister, a former radical green peace activist, immediately ordered to stop construction. Contractors were told to leave and workers issued layoff notices.
A few weeks later a lab test revealed that the rusty piece was a cheap fishing hook sold in Walmart stores. The matter went to court where forensic experts and witnesses were able to convince the judge to allow construction to resume.
