RE:Preferred DividendI have the FFN preferreds, and that is all I own. Its not like they are locked in, and we will know well ahead of time if the rates go down. I do not think Canada will be lowering rates soon, but they should be.  There are also floating preferreds out there paying better than 10%, i just sold off ALA.pr.b today for a nice gain after collecting one quarterly div... sitting on half a million in cash, and not in a real rush to deploy. I can get over 11% on a 6 month term at MExico 's most reliable bank BBVA... so will move some money that direction hopefully, if the CAD moves back up vs the peso. CAD down big today. vs USD and Peso .
