RE:RE:Should we worry? The protests are centred around Rio Tintos Jadar lithium project. RT has a terrible record of environmental damage around the world , (QMM Madagascar ) . Rio Tinto wants to develop a lithium mine , lithium mining around the world have caused huge environmental problems with ground water. Rio Tinto has a history of union busting , private contacting etc. in a very pro union mining country. Balkan gold is opening a boron mine in a coal mining area , has a good relationship with Serbian officials and at this point in time has had no environmental or union concerns to cause resistance to our mining project. The best policy for BONE right now would be stay under the radar( which they are) , hire Serbian project leaders, which they have and keep the course they are on. To get this far BONE has made all the correct geopolitical decisions . Right now it would appear we are in good standing with Serbia, with the license the financing will look after itself. Hopefully we can keep our good standing with the new ruling party. Our mining situation is entirely different than Rio Tintos . One huge factor we lack is the incredibly deep pockets that Rio Tinto has , which, at this point in time has not bought them into the mining stage in Serbia , despite repeated attempts . I think at this point we are in a good position for this venture . GLTA
