I am happy either way, increase the divvy or maintain buybacks.
Would just like to see clear guidance what the plan is in the upcoming Q report.
Whichever way the wind blows here, I see management continuously making smart choices.
No reason to believe they wouldn't.
Anyone who owns Gamehost stock, they have to understand that the team here has significant "Skin in the Game"
This is a key ingredient to long-term investment success for regular joes and schmucks like me.
You find a good business at a reasonable valuation, you make sure the management team owns respectably sized stakes in their company.
Sounds simple. But not enough people pay attention to executive ownership.
When the execs have the bulk of their net worth tied into the common stock of their business, they tend to make decisions that support their shares. We ride along on their coat tails, maybe hit a bonus round or two in the process.
I forget what insiders own here exactly, but it's always run close to 40%. Might be 35% now.
When insiders have tens of millions at stake, they tend to make good choices.
Thinking back to the Pandemic, I would look at Great Canadian Gaming (GC), where you had the "Investment Banker" son of a founding shareholder 'playing' CEO of the company. Big pay, big fat options packages, no shares.
We all saw what happened when times got tough. GC was bought by Apollo for roughly .55 on the dollar at what may have been the exact Bottom of the Pandemic Panic.
Fat cat executives cashed out their annual options packages for big gains and rode off into the sunset while shareholders arguably got a boot in the butt.
I don't see this type of scenario ever playing out with GH.
Instead, the GH team saw the Pandemic as an Opportunity to re-build and re-brand.
That was the Winning decision. That's why you stick with Management teams who own their shares.
You think about a group of business people who built their operations from the ground up. Literally, not figuratively. Those are people who will protect their business. And if you're lucky enough to be a shareholder, then you participate equally on a per-share basis.
Good enough for me.
Early stages of a rally here, I'm looking forward to a "Gap-up" in the charts. Been waiting to see it for quite a few years now.
