But therein lies a paradox: if development is hopeless, what is Todd's game?
It should be noted that although the Todd family is vastly wealthy, Todd Minerals is a small part of their empire. So, they need access to equity markets or a deep-pocketed partner to develop. You don't stay a billionaire for long if you keep betting your own money on risky mining ventures. Or maybe they can finance their share with cash from iron ore, if that works out.
So, we retail investors can bail and lick our wounds, or double down and pray.
