RE:RE:RE:Next move when you are stuck between a rock and a hard placeAs usual, we respectfully disagree my friend.  I hope for your sake that your assessment proves accurate.

For my part, I see too many parallels to what is going WRT to SU and what has happened to other large companies over the years that didn't adjust to new technologies and a changing market for their products.

As for your comment about a valuation reset to that of its peers, IMO, at least in Canada, SU as an integrated oil company really doesn't really have a peer.  Guess one could argue peerage with international integrated oil companies but even there IMHO that would be a stretch given the breadth of their operations and different country policies and tax regimes.

So for my part, I will from time to time make short term opportunistic buys of oil companies but my long term investments will be elsewhere.
