A little Caesar's last stand. Maduro's recent politically motivated sabre rattling regarding reclaiming oil rich Essequibo from Guyana which has owned the territory for over 200 years, has strains of Putin's Ukraine disaster. VZ voters in the recent referendum (50% turnout) were in favour of establishing a separate state there. Could some action have any bearing on the Citgo position ? Given that the International Court of Justice has ruled any 'annexation' illegal and the US would be totally antagonistic to such an action,
I would have thought that even the possibility of it happening would hinder any chance of the auction not going ahead fully as planned. Any views ?
Happy Christmas/NY plap, aston and all.
