RE:RE:RE:New INFO On TMX Drilling CHALLENGE Near HOPE BCFor starters, the following statement needs to be clarified. The increased operation pressure of this segment will still be under the MAOP.
pipeline CAPACITY will NOT BE REDUCED due to INCREASED PRESSURE on LINE SEGMENT containing MOUNTAIN 3 HDD between PUMPING STATIONS
TMX gave CER until January 9th to approve the new modified plan? The new plan (Variance) has already been denied.
TMX gave CER until January 9, 2024 to APPROVE NEW MODIFIED PLAN and KEEP current OPENING OPERATING DATE STABLE
TMX is actually saying and I covered it in my last post that if they hit uncontrollable flooding, then they will have to abandon the HDD.
REJECTION of this new plan will MEAN that TMX will ABANDON Mountain 3 HDD, PAUSE CONSTRUCTION and SEEK NEW CER APPROVAL for an ALTERNATIVE PERMITTED SEGMENT PATH
Again, a delay of up to 2 years may occur if TMX runs into uncontrollable flooding while increasing the diameter of the borehole.
TMX 'expects' this DELAY and FINAL CONSTRUCTION of TMX pipeline to LAST up to 2 YEARS and BILLIONS of DOLLARS in CONSTRUCTION COST OVERRUNS and HEFTY FINANCIAL CHARGES with NO MATCHING OFFSET REVENUES
Finally, the 42" borehole has already been drilled! The real question was that TMX wished to use a smaller diameter pipe from what was originally approved!
The correct information is on the Canada Energy Regulator website and I spent about a day reading over all of it, starting with the CER letter dated December 5th. You should too z173!
