RE:RE:Fact check

RE:RE:Fact check

What people don't understand is that EVs are equipped with a thermal management system consisting of a radiator, heater and other hardware, designed to maintain the battery at optimum temperatures. That is to cool the battery when it's hot and keep it warm when it's cold. The energy comes from the battery so one way or another, there is always a leakeage. The hardest hit will be low income people who live in extreme climates and don't have a garage.
Of course, a lot more drainage is when it's cold and cabin heater is turned. That will substantially increase the amount of electricity needed to recharge and turn long distance commuting into a nightmare. Canada is the least suitable country for EVs, except for a second or third vehicle in the family who can afford the high initial cost, higher electricity bills and low resale value.

Another issue is the status of the Big Three plus Honda and Toyota assembly plants in Canada, mainly in Ontario. Will they stay in Canada and invest billions to convert its current facilities to EVs, or just pack and move south. It's anyone's guess but I don't think the current government cares. These people have done more damage than good. They became a liability and actually always have been.
