only a guess but perhaps interest rates.  When NHK wasmuch higher at lower POG a CD was paying nominal interest.  Now the CD pays 5% and having capital tied up in assets that don't pay doesn't  seem so smart!  And if you are financing your penny stock with margin the carrying cost has gone balistic. I personally am looking at dumping some more grassroot holdings and buying mid tier explorer producers that pay a divy.
