Acquirer or Acquireee?

Acquirer or Acquireee?Tough to tell at this point. For the last few years, Whitecap has been an agressive buyer of assets, and therefore a predator when it came to M&A. Until recently........where they've been giving mixed signals are to their intentions & where they intend to go with M&A. Since they haven't followed suit with their sister company Crescent Point, which they usally do in unison, in lock'n & step with one another, one has to wonder if this is finally the year......where they eventually sellout themselves.

Why do i say this, because i've been following them for quite some time, along with many others and have to say that IF Whitecap doesn't make a move of their own soon, this year, with an accretive acquisition of their own to remain competive with it's peers, as CPG has done, then its highly likely they will be more inclined to sell too.......

And they would be an apetizing target for someone hungry like Arc, which is wouldn't have considered WCP to be one in the past, but could become one if it continues to linger at these low levels and they remain stagnant on the M&A front! Should be interesting to see where & how this plays out with WCP. As i always thought the End Game with them would have been an eventual merger of equals with their sister company.......CrescentPoint, somewhere down the line in the future.
