Artis Real Estate Investment Trust is an unincorporated closed-end REIT based in Canada. Artis REIT's portfolio comprises properties located in Central and Western Canada and select markets throughout the United States, including regions such as Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Arizona, Minnesota, Colorado, New York, and Wisconsin. The properties are divided into three categories: office, retail, and industrial. The industrial properties account for most of the portfolio, followed by the office properties and the retail properties.

........ further to prior post about Reit headwindsJust watching one if my favored shows, Bloomberg's Surveillance and their lead story is Moody's cutting NYCB to junk and the effect on banks , commercial real estate and the markets.

Great lead guest Tony Dwyer, softened things somewhat but suggested it is still an ongoing problem. Just another piece out there that continues to add uncertainty and pressure on the sector. Doesn't mean you shouldn't be sniffing around, I have been selectively nibbling. Is it too early, who knows, time will tell. Know what you own and be prepared to hold. 

Dwyer suggested cash has out performed and is buying weakness. I do like the flexibility of cash now at 5+ as noted in an earlier post. Get paid with no risk. I currently have highest cash position in a very long time but it has to go back to work, but will be patient and very selective.
