RE:RE:RE:RE:Bombardier appuie sur l'accelerateur - La Presse859, I was hoping the market would react positively but deep down I was pretty sure it would not because a) buy the rumour sell the news and b) because the long term debt has not been formally addressed (ie press release not Martel comments)

Obviously the timing of long term debt retirement depends on many factors and since there's no disclosure requirements for bonds it's best to keep your cards close to your chest.

Besides - !!! - the business is obviously performing and being managed very well. One of the best companies in Canada.

However, the stock market has its own rules they like liquidity (no US listing) and they abhor debt - they already think Boeing has too much debt -(which they are reducing) - and the equivalent level for Bombardier would be $3.5B.

I'm not going to sell now obviously but I won't be buying more and may sell some in the future. Just don't think the stock - as opposed to company - will perform well as long as debt is high.
