I just registred with Stockhouse, even if I follow FTN and DFN since a long time and you by the way, to comment on your last post. First of all, I appreciate your daily update on the NAV of FTN (I no longer have any DFN), it's really usefull.
And for your last comment, I agree 100% with the first part of it, but I dont think that Anonymous is shortselling right now. I use Stockwatch too and look at all the other months and Anonymous is always selling over 1 million shares per month and if we compare with the shortselling chart that Stockwatch provide us bi-monthly, there is no correlation. I do know that CIBC short FTN occasionally for short period of time. And ringht now, who want to short FTN at discount?
Humbly!

Just because ANON sells that much, does not mean when the they are buying back they use ANON again. Really is nothing to hide when you are buying/covering your short. So because the short positions are given only 2 times a month, one cannot say who is covering, as they likely use the bank or other large brokerage to cover. My sources say it is normaly institutional that shortsells in a big way, but there are big traders as well who shortsell.. and i doubt they use ANON very much. ANON  IS ONLY there to disguise the house that is selling. I do note anon on the buy quite often, and maybe that could account for market makers ..
I have watched eveytime an offering was done in the past and underwriters sell off the stock right after. ANON is always the big seller.  If you look over the course of the month on ANY given stock, most often ANON is the biggest seller, and very seldom are  they the big buyer.
