RE:RE:RE:RE:Oil Spill in Block 95 Port Dude, this was NOT a PETROTAL spill - this was one of their customers whom had a spill from one of their own barges-Petroltal did respond with their emergency response plan to control the leak. This, in the end, may actually gain some points with the locals as it shows how serious TAL was with all their environmental protection talk...see below translated...dwdc
PetroTal, operator of Block 95, informs the public that today, at 5:30 a.m., the shipowner Henry, who transports the crude oil that the Novum company buys from the operator of Block 95, requested support from the oil company to control an oil spill in the river, which occurred after the anchoring of two of its vessels. approximately two kilometers from our operation (Puinahua district, Loreto region).
"Immediately, PetroTal – in support of the Henry company's convoy – activated its Contingency Plan by which properly trained and equipped brigades arrived at the point of the incident and managed to control the hydrocarbon leak," the company said in a recent statement.
The incident occurred outside PetroTal's area of control. Investigations will begin immediately, while containment and clean-up work is carried out.
The transport company Henry, owner of the damaged barges and a contractor for Novum, has pledged to provide the necessary support to the affected communities and to deliver water and food.
