The article below says TMX will be filled in no time.

https://boereport.com/2024/03/11/pipeline-shortages-to-return-sooner-rather-than-later-as-oil-production-booms/

I
am not aware of a single new oil sands mine under construction or even being proposed. And I am not sure if there are any new thermal projects. A mine would add about 200K and SAGD 50K or less. There is growth in the gassy Montney, Clearwater and other areas, but the pace is slow because of declines. So I am not sure if that report from a "TD Economist" can be trusted. Where is he getting up to 500k in a single year?

The pipeline hasn't been built yet, but the press is already spreading bad news about the future of this industry.

A TD Economics report suggested Canadian oil production in 2024 could grow by between six and 10 per cent year-over-year, the equivalent of between 300,000 and 500,000 barrels per day.
