You will notice in the press release of last year 2023 that they repurchased about 24,000,000 shares at an average price of about $6.5. If these shares were instead purchased today, BTE could have saved about $50M. The timing of share repurchase is indeed important.

"Under its prior NCIB, the company sought and obtained approval to purchase 56,300,143 common shares. Under its prior NCIB, which ran from May 8, 2022 to May 9, 2023, the company repurchased an aggregate of 24,317,822 common shares at a weighted-average price of $6.5304 per share, excluding brokerage fees."

I beg to differ. It is moot considering the share price still languishesnot far from the 52 week low and well below weighted average you cite.

Moot for today ......... looking back means nothing in looking forward. Depending on the price they can fulfill the balance of the NCIB, averages will look different than what you cite and overall will look decent if they can close out the NCIB at these levels.
