RE:tobinator:technically speaking you might want to adddrunk, there are several miners that use the market as an ATM machine. Either they aren't generating enough cash flow to stay liquid (GSVR.V) or they need to raise a ton of cash to build a mine (AR.TO). I'd say relax about Aris. They already have $195 million of cash on hand and generating $160 million in EBITDA. Accounting for the recent rise in Gold, they are likely doing over $200 million in 2024. The Segovia expansion is fully funded as well as the underground development at Marmato. At the end of April, they are getting a cash infusion of roughly $15 million due to the exercise of B series warrants.
The short interest, albeit being the highest in a year, is a tiny fraction of the float. Aris shares shot up 28% in the month of March alone, which is a full C$1.06 higher than the February close of 3.80. A gigantic move like that in a a sector that just broke above even for the year will attract short sellers.
IMO, Aris is in great shape and I'm looking forward to those warrants expiring. Gold just hit an all-time high on Friday and is putting real pain on shorts. Just holding firm, I expect Aris to close over 5.00 next week.
