As we reflect on the journey that led us here, let’s celebrate the vision, tenacity, and collaboration that propelled us forward. Each step taken, each challenge overcome, has shaped our success. We’ve waited a long time for this achievement to become a reality and the historical day has arrived on March 31, 2024.
 
Firstly, I’d like to acknowledge the contribution made by Renaud Adams, President and Chief Executive Officer of IAMGOLD. He is the right mining executive to lead the company, in the dynamic landscape of mining, strong leadership is essential to navigate challenges and seize opportunities. Renaud Adams’ track record speaks volumes, and his strategic vision will undoubtedly play a crucial role in IAMGOLD’s future endeavors. He acknowledges the Cote Gold mine is poised to become the flagship asset with its extended lifespan, cost-effectiveness, and strategic shift in production base to Ontario and Quebec, two of the best mining jurisdictions in the world. Congratulations to all involved!
 
Some excerpts from the announcement:
 

• This achievement is monumental for the Ct team, IAMGOLD, Sumitomo and for the gold mining industry itself.
• With first gold now achieved, the next step and focus for IAMGOLD is on the ramp up of the operation to commercial production in the third quarter towards the goal of exiting the year at a 90% throughput rate.

• Production guidance from Ct this year, on a 100% basis, is unchanged at 220,000 to 290,000 ounces of gold, assuming the remaining milestones are achieved.

• At steady run-rate, Ct Gold is expected to be within the largest operating gold mines in Canada with an expected mine life exceeding 18 years, with an average annual gold production of 365,000 ounces over that period.
• This is just the beginning for Ct, it’s believed the project is the start of what will ultimately turn into a new mining district that will be a mining hub for decades to come.

• In addition, the Company has an established portfolio of early stage and advanced exploration projects within high potential mining districts.
