Tilray IS a meme stockYou quote numbers from Fintel as to the number of instituional owners and a bit of a breakdown.
Here's some more inetresting facts - of the 403 instituions,
-only 32 own more than 1 million shares
-160 own less than 10,000 shares
-102 own less than 1,000 shares
Throwing '403' institutional investors and only selectig data that suits your position is poor research. The 403 may sound good - but a quick drilld own shows that there just arent that many that hold any significant amounts. In fact, there are numerous accounts holding under 10 shares in that 403 total.
Of course Tilray is a meme stock - by very definition and it's self evident. You need to google meme stocks.
As for evidence, I quote the following international cannabis trade expert:

Tilray is a Meme Stock ? -> Prove it
I see no evidence that this is a meme stock. If you have such evidence then please share for the enlightenment of the Forum.
In regards to shorting. I have looked around at many stocks, big, small, cannabis stocks and those outside of Cannabis. Most stocks I see have some level of shorting activity.
For Tilray, there are 403 Institutional investors (new one added today), 384 are Long only, 18 are both holding long and short and only 1 of the total 403 hold Short only. If we are to consider the view of the institutionals as the way to go on this one then the consenus is to Hold Long.
