RE:RE:RE:Good or bad ?

RE:RE:RE:Good or bad ?Maybe this is just a political tactic (pre-electoral promise). Some kind of democratic response to " Make America Great Again"

Money leads politics and media (news). Many current promises will be watered down following the election because when in power, one would like to stay there and if the economy goes to shmit, it is the first thing the opposition will use as a pretext to kick you out.

I can see why it is justifiable that China can make cheaper EV's in general. But then again, Tesla is building cars in his Shanghai plant and competing with BYD in certain "niches".

I think that it is the price of batteries that is killing us in the west and we are not setup at the moment to produce enough of those at a decent price to compete in other segments of the market. If we had something the likes of CATL in our backyard, it would be a different story.

Also, with robotics taking over the car assembly and manufacturing divisions, there is no other good reason other than batteries to stop us from competing in other segments. (Unless the Auto Workers Union make us believe that we need the same amount of workers as before the robotics revolution to do the job today)

Tesla has reduced the price of their model Y for example by 10,000$ or more and is still making profits. It seems that to stay in business, Tesla had to cutback on the greed to stay alive.

We should stop blaming China for everything, and clean up our act. China has been blamed for subsidizing car makers but we sort of do the same here with subsidies to car makers and consumers.
