Tourmaline Oil Corp. is a natural gas producer, which is focused on producing natural gas in North America. The Company is focused on long-term growth through an aggressive exploration, development, production and acquisition program in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. It operates in three basins, which include the Alberta Deep Basin, NEBC Montney Gas/Condensate and Peace River Triassic Oil. It has ownership interests in 22 natural gas plants in the Alberta Deep Basin. It owns and operates seven natural gas processing facilities with an aggregate capacity of approximately 1.0 Bcf/d with related gas gathering systems and NGL handling infrastructure in the NEBC complex. The Company owns and operates two oil batteries in the Peace River Triassic Oil basin. The Company’s operations are focused on northeast British Columbia and include a large contiguous land base with a Montney resource. Its Montney area assets include Septimus / West Septimus, Groundbirch, Monias and Tower.

The fact is there are some much larger than normal volumes of shares changing hands. The average daily shares traded is 2.4 million per day. May 3 - 13 million traded, May 6 - 8 million, May 10 - 9.2 million and May 13 - 5 million traded.. 

I think this is positive, but it would be interesting to know who is accumulating. I think TOU is too large to be taken out, Dunernay was pretty large too when Shell took them out. It's always possible history could repeat. 


I believe, however, the most likely takeover target in the Canadian NG scene is Crew Energy. I can't see them in existence in a year with the Shell consortium LNG coming online within a year . Their Montney play is just too valuable. It could even be a bidding war, although at this point Crews management don't appear to want a takeover .
