Unpacking MLS' latest video

Unpacking MLS' latest video

Here is MLS' latest video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTYYrPvpgqc&t=3s There is a lot to unpack. Too much for one post! So here is the most blatant. Both Steve and the host said MLS received a Strategic Innovation Fund of 12.9 million. They did not. What the actually got was a conditional term sheet. https://www.maritimelaunch.com/news/maritime-launch-receives-conditional-term-sheet-government-canada-contribution-under-strategic MLS has not received a similar reimbursement commitment from the province. They are still in the sought after phase, part A. A Part A application determines whether a project is eligible for the tax credit. https://data.novascotia.ca/Financial-Services/Capital-Investment-Tax-credit-Approved-Tax-Credits/bc4f-xynb/data_preview They have a conditional EA and will need to finish all the conditions required for operations before any commercial launch can take place. This new airport spaceport model MLS is now promoting was not considered in their EA and according to condition 3.4 may require a new environmental assessment. https://novascotia.ca/nse/ea/canso-spaceport-facility/Conditions.pdf At this time there is no such thing as a licensed spaceport in Canada. "Transport Canada does not currently licence launch facilities. Rather, the safety of a launch site is assessed as part of the review of a launch applicant's proposal to obtain an authorization to launch." Sadly there are even more concerning and misleading statements made in this video.
