Baytex Energy Corp. is a Canada-based energy company. The Company is engaged in the acquisition, development and production of crude oil and natural gas in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and in the Eagle Ford in the United States. Its crude oil and natural gas operations are organized into three main operating areas: Light Oil USA (Eagle Ford), Light Oil Canada (Pembina Duvernay / Viking) and Heavy Oil Canada (Peace River / Peavine / Lloydminster). Its Eagle Ford assets are located in the core of the liquids-rich Eagle Ford shale in South Texas. The Eagle Ford shale covers approximately 269,000 gross acres of crude oil operations. Its Viking assets are located in the Dodsland area in southwest Saskatchewan and in the Esther area of southeastern Alberta. It also holds 100% working interest land position in the East Duvernay resource play in central Alberta.

Jleer, I fully understand evaluating positive and negatives when making investment decisions. I was commenting on the fact that any time a positve development takes place, it seems there is always a potential negative scenario (that hasn't happened and when the specific one of wildfire did happen it was minimal in scope) thrown out to counter the positve development that did just happen.

I mean, it wasn't long ago that the Saudis were going to flood the market to counter US record production in a battle for market share. Famed oil analyst Paul Sankey was emphatic in saying the Saudis had to flood, it was the only way to put the US in check said he.

Well, the Saudis and OPEC  plus have just put that bogeyman to rest for the duration of 24/25 so it seems your pointing out wildfire potential disruptions are your next go to until they're not, lol.
