Off topic but I just returned from a vacation in Japan and there you can buy a cold beer from an outdoor vending machine alongside yogurt drinks, water and pop. Like in Europe there are no liquor stores. You can buy a bottle of Ballantine's Scotch or Suntory whiskey in a drugstore or convenience store for less than $12 CAD. People here need to get a grip on where alcohol can be sold.
