(Toronto) Le principal indice boursier canadien a cloture en baisse, mercredi, dans un declin generalise.

L’indice compose S&P/TSX a perdu 94,40 points a 21 516,90.

Cette baisse marque la poursuite du repli du marche qui a vu l’indice TSX chuter d’environ 4,4 % au cours du dernier mois, tandis que le S&P de New York est en hausse de 3,5 %, a indique Michael Currie, conseiller en placement principal chez Gestion de patrimoine TD.

« Nous avons donc definitivement une histoire de deux marches ici : les Etats-Unis continuent de se renforcer, tandis que le Canada continue de s’affaiblir », a soutenu M. Currie.

« Il ne s’agit certainement pas d’un effondrement, mais la tendance generale a ete negative et cela semble etre davantage ce qui se poursuit aujourd’hui », a-t-il ajoute.

Le declin du marche canadien s’est produit alors que les marches americains taient fermes a l’occasion du jour ferie du 19 juin.

La journee feriee a egalement entraine une baisse des transactions au Canada, avec environ 96 millions d’actions negociees la Bourse de Toronto, contre un volume moyen de 226 millions.
